PEMETAAN PENGUASAAN MATERI GEOGRAFI PADA PESERTA DIDIK SMA BERDASARKAN NILAI UJIAN NASIONAL MENURUT STATUS SEKOLAH DAN KATEGORI AKREDITASI DI SURAKARTA TAHUN 2010 – 2012
Abstract: The purposes of this
study are (1) to know data distributions of geography mastery level on senior
high school students based on national exam in Surakarta in 2010 – 2012; (2) to
know differences of geography mastery level on national exam in 2010 – 2012 between
state senior high school and private senior high school students, then between
senior high school with specific accreditation category; (3) to know teacher
problems on learning process on less geography mastery of senior high school
students in Surakarta in 2010 – 2012.
This study is a mixed methods research. The population in this study is
all senior high school in Surakarta. Sampling technique is non random sampling
or non sampling. Data collection technique were interviews and documentary
studies. Technique of analysis in this study is descriptive statistic for
quantitative data and analysis of Miles and Huberman Model for qualitative
data.
Based on data analysis, the result of this study can be presented as
follows : (1) Data distribution of geography mastery level on senior high
school students in 2010 – 2012 are 25% State Senior High School and 42% Private
Senior High School have low geography mastery level. However, the level of
geography mastery on senior high school students is increased. (2) Geography
mastery level between state senior high school and private senior high school
students, then between senior high school with accreditation A, B, and C
category is increased. However, geography mastery level on state senior high
school students better than private senior high school students. Whereas,
geography mastery level on senior high school students with specific
accreditation category can be concluded that there is no significant
differences, because of good geography mastery level and low geography mastery
level ratio is balanced in 2010 until 2012. (3) The problems learning caused
the mastery lowly are low students competence, the learning process too
monotonous, low students interest and motivation, lack the standard references
ownership for teachers, teachers with recent graduates are slightly so that the
majority of teachers have trouble to understanding the new material, low
teachers activity in scholarly activities, absence of a laboratory for
geography learning, and at least the role of government institutions in the
standardized subjects implementation.
