Abstract: Social
studies ( IPS ) has a purpose
to build students to become good citizens, who have
the knowledge, skills,
and social awareness
that are useful
for themshelves and for
the society and
the country. However,in
learn ing of social studies ( IPS ) in the
fourth graders of
SDN Sidomukti 02
Jember was still found
some problems such as the methods
that the teacher
used was less
innovativeand the teacher
never used instructional media
in teach ing learning
materials. This problem
causes the students learnin g outcome
slow. This problem
could be solved
by applying method
guided discovery through play
snake and ladders.
The result shows
that of the
application method guided
discovery through play
snake and ladders
can increase students learning outcomes.
