Abstract: Songs
can be viewed as a form of social
practices related to
social reactions. Forms of social
pathology is quite popular and
can be appointed as a theme song that hit today. Slank
is a band on board who has many fans in
Indonesia. Some of the album contains
the songs on the theme of
social pathology. To find
meaning in a song, one can use discourse
analysis. Discourse in
principle, be used
to argue, influence,
persuade supporting,
reacting, and so
on. Social Pathology
felt suitable for
use in a
song to influence discourse,
debate, and so on. Therefore,
by using the
concept of Critical Discourse Analysis,
developed by Van
Djik, I try
to assess the
meaning of critical, pathological forms
of social and
moral messages in
the album Plur.
method used is descriptive qualitative.
The data are
words, sentences, and
discourse in the
songs contained in the
album Plur. The results and discussion
indicate that there
