ABSTRACT: Learning style
is a process
in which there
is a concrete
experience (CE), reflective observation
(RO), abstract conceptualization (AC),
and active experimentation (AE)
is used as a whole
to adapt to
the world (Kolb,
1984). According to Ginzberg
(in Sharf, 2006),
at age 17
to 18 years,
students have realized the
importance of determining
the school for
career development. One of
the determinants of career success is a congruence (fit) between learning style
to the character's career environment.
(Holland in Santohadi,
2006). Learning styles
lead students to choose careers that match for them (Plovnick, 1975). The
aims of this
study is to
determine the learning
styles and tendency
of career choices based
on high school
students learning style
class XII with quantitative descriptive
method. The sample
in this study
is 207 students
with a purposive sampling
technique. Measuring tool used is the Learning Style Inventory (LSI) made
by David A.
Kolb in 2005.
This amounted to 12 aitem
LSI with each aitem has 4 possible answers. The
results showed that high school students' learning styles majority of class XII
have convergent learning styles and tendency of student career selection
does not match
with their learning
style with significancy
value = (x²) = 53, 618 dan p =
0,489.
