PENGARUH KONSELING GIZI DAN SUPLEMENTASI GIZI MIKRO DUA KALI SEMINGGU TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN DAN ASUPAN MAKANAN IBU HAMIL
Abstract: Nutritional anemia
in pregnant woman is still a root cause of anemia in world, either in
developing countries and developed countries.
The aim of
this study was
to assess the
effects of nutritional
counseling with micronutrient supplement
on hemoglobin levels
and food intake
of pregnant women.
This is a
quasi-experimental study. The
research was conducted
in Maros regency,
with a sample
of 60 people
(n = 30, respectively for
the treatment and
control groups. Treatment
group received 2
times a week
micronutrient supplementation containing 60 mg Fe, 0.250 mg folic acid,
50 mg vitamin C , and 1800 RE vitamin A).Data analysis was using Paired test
and independent t-test.The results showed that the mean Hb levels of pregnant women
in treatment group increased from 11:32 g / dl to 11.67 g / dl with an average
increase of 0.350 g / dl (p = 0
087), whereas in
control group, the
mean Hb levels
were only 11:55
g / dl
to 11.60 g
/ dl with
an average increase of
only 0.053 g
/ dl (p
= 0765).There is
no significant difference
in the increase
of hemoglobin levels before
and after intervention
between the groups
(p = 0267).
Maternal nutrient intake increased in both groups (p<0.05).
Regarding the weight gain of pregnant women for 3 months intervention (12 weeks)
was higher in the treatment
group. We conclude,
that counseling micronutrient
and supplementation may improve hemoglobin and dietary intake of
pregnant woman.
