Gambaran Pengetahuan Pasien Katarak Tentang Tindakan Operasi di Poli Mata RSUD Raden Mataher Provinsi Jambi Tahun 2013
Abstract: vision is one of
important sense instrument for human. The abnormality of the eye is cataract.
Cataract is eye’s abnormality which causes blindness and vision discruption.
Cataract is the most causing of blindness in the world. Approximately 1,5
million Indonesian people get blindness and more then half of it is caused by
cataract. Surgery is the treatment for cataract. Knowledge is result of know,
and it is happened after person do sensing to specific object. Some research
showed that any patient denied cataract surgery. The factor that influence
patient to refuse surgery is knowledge.
Method : this study is descriptive. Sample in this study is patient who
come to eye poly and they are diagnosed cataract. Amount sample is 96
respondent. The data was taken by answering the questionnaire.
Results : Respondent in good knowledge category about cataract is 37
persons or 38.5%. Respondent in enough
knowledge category about cataract is 14 persons or 14.6%. Respondent in poor
knowledge category about cataract is 45 persons or 46.9%. Respondent in good
knowledge category about cataract surgery definition is 17 persons or 17.7%.
Respondent in enough knowledge category about cataract surgery definition is 0
persons or 0%. Respondent in poor knowledge category about cataract surgery
definition is 79 persons or 82.3%.
Conclusion : The highest percentage of respondent knowledge about
cataract is poor category approximately 45 persons or 46.9%. The highest
percentage of respondent knowledge about cataract surgery is poor category
approximately 79 persons or 82.3%.
