Efek Antiagregasi Platelet Ekstrak Etanol Buah Mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L.), Rimpang Jahe Merah (Zingiber officinale var. Sunti Val.) dan Kombinasinya pada Mencit Jantan Galur Swiss Webster
Abstract: Antiplatelet
aggregation effect of noni fruits (Morinda citrifolia L.) and ginger (Zingiber
officinale var. Sunti Val.) ethanol extract and its combination has been
investigated in Swiss Webster mice. The test substances were given orally
during the period of 28 days. Antiplatelet aggregation effect was tested by
measuring bleeding time, coagulation time, and decreasing plasma absorbance to
observe platelet aggregation activity before and after addition of ADP as
platelet aggregation inducer. Based on the inhibition of plasma absorbance decrease, noni fruits
extract at a dose of 100 mg/kg body weight, ginger extract at a dose of 50
mg/kg body weight, combination of noni fruits at a dose of 100 mg/kg body
weigfht and ginger extract at dose of 50
mg/kg body weight as well as combination of each 50 and 25 mg/kg body showed
the effect of platelet aggregation
inhibition of 66.67 ± 11.79% (p=0.028);
72.67 ± 18.62% (p=0.020); 63.00 ± 18.27% (p=0.033); and 77.14 ± 19.24%
(p=0.016) respectively. The test substances above increased bleeding time
of 422.83 ± 42.36% (p<0.001); 409.40
± 190.69% (p=0.009); 552.03 ± 182.23% (p= 0.003); 441.67 ± 209.46% (p=0.010)
respectively and increased coagulation time
of 33.52 ± 22.55% (p=0.049);
48.56 ± 29.26% (p=0.035); 39.40 ± 18.71% (p=0.017) and 58.42 ± 25.85% (p=0.010) respectively. There
were no significantly differences among the combination extract of 1 dosage each ; of ½ dosage each; and single dosage of the extract in increasing bleeding time, coagulation
time, and inhibition of platelet aggregation.
