UJI KARAKTERISTIK SERBUK NIKEL HASIL EKSPERIMENTAL PROSES ELECTROREFINING
Abstract: Electrorefining is
one method of Nickel powder production
by electrolysis. Nickel (Ni) as the anode is dissolved in an electrolyte
solution (NiCl2, NiSO4, H3BO3) and deposited back onto the cathode (Fe) by
electric currents. Nickel powders are obtained by drying the grushed Nickel
deposited on the cathode. The purpose of this research is to analyze the
characteristics and examine the chemical
composition of electrorefining Nickel powder. The cathode current density is
varied between 0.45; 0.51; 0.57; 0,6Amper/dm2
while the electrolyte solution temperature is from 25 to 40oC. Lab scale
experimental results show that the distribution of Nickel powders size is 5?m.
The SEM testing shows that Nickel powders have the irregular shape while X-Ray
Fluorescence testing proves that it composed by 71,654 ± 3,429% of Nickel.
