KONEKSITAS RUANG BAWAH TANAH DENGAN RUANG TERBUKA HIJAU PADA ARSITEKTUR KAREBOSI-LINK MAKASSAR
Abstract: This research aims
to describe the spatial pattern of Karebosi-Link and the activity pattern of
its visitors in order to explain interconnectivity between underground and
ground-level facilities. Observation and accidental sampling of visitors were undertaken
for 2 weeks in 4 weekdays and 4 weekends. Descriptive-spatial analysis of the
activities of 48 visitor groups concludes that: (i) Spatial and functional
interconnections between underground and ground-level facilities hardly take
place, even no interconnection occurs between underground shopping facility and
the green open space; (ii) Visitors cognitively aware of the coexistence of
underground shopping facilities, ground-level open space, and green open space,
however hardly utilize them all together during the visit. This research
implies necessity of design articulations to create stronger interconnections
between underground and ground-level public facilities.
