BUILDING AND ENVIRONMENT STRUCTURING OF PA’JUKKUKANG’S VILLAGE, SUBDISTRICT BONTOA KABUPATEN MAROS
Abstract: Indonesia is one of
the largest archipelago country which each of region has a specific
characteristic that can be directly observed from the neighborhood residents.
As an archipelago country, Indonesia is generally fast-growing residential
areas in the coastal areas. Kabupaten Maros as one of the areas directly
adjacent to Makassar Strait, has developed some of the settlements on the
coast, one of that is Village Pa'jukkukang.
Although settlements growing is on the coast, the settlements are not
oriented to the existence of the beach, but on the river, which became a
connector to the sea. This caused an impairment quality of the environment,
especially in coastal rivers. This study aims to identify the condition of the
building layout and neighborhoods, especially in the fishermen settlement,
Pa'jukkukang Village, including land use, urban design, circulation systems,
open space, a system of environmental quality also infrastructure systems and
environment utility. By using both qualitative and quantitative methods,
produced a draft direction of improving the quality of buildings and
settlements with the zoning analysis which done by dividing the area into
several zones. At the end of the study is expected to provide an overview of
the direction of improving the quality of urban design and environment in the
fishermen settlements Pa'jukkukang Village. It is expected that the results of
this study could be followedup in order to improve the quality of the
environment and the welfare of the people in Pa'jukkukang Village.
