SUPLEMENTASI DAUN BANGUN-BANGUN (COLEUS AMBOINICUS LOUR) DAN ZINC-VITAMIN E DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP METABOLISME RUMEN IN VITRO KAMBING PERANAKAN ETAWAH
ABSTRACT: In vitro experiment
was conducted to determine the effect of supplementation of bangun-bangun leaf
and Zn-vitamin E on rumen bioprocess. This experiment was arranged in a
factorial of completely randomized design which basal ration supplemented with
bangun-bangun leaf (0, 3, 9%/kg of ration) and Zn-vitamin E (0:0 ppm and 20:10
ppm). Results of experiment showed that in vitro rumen metabolism changed by
supplementation of bangun-bangun leaf which dry matter, organic matter
digestibility, VFA production increased by 11.00-24.14%, 9.82-23.12% and 9.13-50.34%,
respectively. The NH3-N production was decreased by 0.29-16.72%, and both pH
value and microbial numbers were maintained between 6.15 to 6.25, and 46 × 105
to 54 × 105 cfu/ml, respectively. Based on this experiment, it was concluded
that bangun-bangun leaf and Zn-vitamin E can be used as a supplement in ration
of Etawah grade goats to improve rumen metabolism.
