SIFAT FISIKA DAN MEKANIKA KAYU BONGIN (Irvingia malayana Oliv) DARI DESA KARALI III KABUPATEN MURUNG RAYA KALIMANTAN TENGAH

Abstract: The purpose of the implementation of this research is to investigate the physical properties of wood Bongin including moisture content, density and shrinkage, mechanical properties of wood covering the persistence press Bongin parallel to grain and static bending strength (MoE and MoR), and the relationship between physical properties of wood (moisture content, density and shrinkage) of the mechanical properties of wood Bongin. The result is expected to provide benefits in the form of information to the public so that they can utilize appropriate Bongin wood, and will give Bongin timber for the timber industry as a raw material. Bongin value wood moisture content 18.36% by value by 0.98 gr/cm3 density. Value of wood shrinkage in the radial direction bongin 2.81%, in the tangential direction by 5.77% and 0.54% longitodinal direction. Value of static flexural strength (MOE) of wood bongin kg/cm2 170,579.39, the value of bending strength (MOR) of 1178.80 kg/cm2. Press firmness value parallel to the wood grain bongin 563.33 kg/cm2. Wood bongin based on research results are classified into class I. Generally strong, physical properties of wood has a high bongin strong relationships with its mechanical properties, except in connection with MOR density, tangential shrinkage with firmness press parallel to grain, and depreciation longitodinal with parallel fibers firmness press. bongin Wood has a strong class I where bongin timber is suitable for raw building materials.
