BRIKET ARANG DARI LIMBAH ARANG PT. CITRA PRIMA UTAMA BANJARBARU

Abstract: This study aims to determine the quality of the physical properties of charcoal briquettes made from charcoal-making industrial waste by using adhesive to glue the different concentrations. The benefits of this research may provide information to the company, or to the public on the use of charcoal briquettes from waste charcoal as an alternative energy to reduce the use of wood as fuel, reducing the use of kerosene and other fossil energy. The method used is using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). With a mixture of charcoal and adhesive composition as a treatment factor. The observed variables are density, moisture, ash, fly substance content, and calorific value of residual carbon from charcoal briquettes produced. The results showed the treatment does not give effect to some responses off so that the overall charcoal briquettes produced have a value of average water content of 3839%, an average ash content of 20.986%, the average density 1.036 gram/cm3, average flying substances average 27.7%, and the average calorific value of 4995.061 calories. when compared to America Standard, Japan Standard and British standar the produced charcoal briquettes do not meet these standards, so the charcoal briquettes prodused can only be used for local scale.
