PRODUKSI NIRA AREN (Arrenga pinnata) DAN KADAR ALKOHOL DARI DESA UJUNG LAMA KABUPATEN TANAH LAUT DAN DESA SUNGAI ALANG KABUPATEN BANJAR KALIMANTAN SELATAN
Abstract: This study aims to
determine the amount of production of sap Aren and the alcohol content
contained in the sap from the two villages. The experiment was conducted in
October-December 2009. Based on the results of field research shows the
differences in production of sap in a tree Aren on the two villages. Average
production of palm juice village of Ujung Lama is 9.03 - 12.08 l /tree, and
Sungai Alang village average of 15.75 - 19:47 l /tree. While the average Edge
Aren from the village of Uung Lama is 11:08 lt, and Sungai Alang is 17.61 lt.
Palm trees are grown and studied in two villages has grown a different
altitude. Sungai Alang village where the
altitude is 41 m and 57 m above sea level while the village of Ujung Lama is 15 m and 17 m. Sungai Alang Village is a mountainous area with high
humidity sap. harvesting performed at
08:00 hours and 16:00 pm, harvesting more mornings than the afternoons. The low
production of sap in the village due to the destruction of the Ujung Lama jerry
palm juice temporary storage in the trees (sap much is wasted on the ground).
Based on the results of distillation in the laboratory showed that the volume
of alcohol that got these two very different villages, the village of Sungai
Alang 15:03 ml, and 14.67 ml of the village of Ujung Lama. Based on sample
storage time was within 3 days of storage there is the alcohol content, alcohol
content generated in the two villages studied did not show significant
difference. It is seen from the calculation of average alcohol content Sungai
Alang village was 95.50% while the village of Ujung Lama is 95.52%. Based on a
t-test for the production of sap Aren showed a highly significant difference,
while for the alcohol content is not any real differences between these two
villages.
