PENGARUH UMUR POHON AREN (Arenga pinnata MERR) TERHADAP PRODUKSI NIRA DI DESA PULANTAN KECAMATAN AWAYAN KABUPATEN BALANGAN PROVINSI KALIMANTAN SELATAN
Abstract: This study aims to
determine the effect of age of palm trees (Arenga pinnata Merr) to the amount
of juice per day production. The benefits of this research is to provide useful
information about the production of sap in the development and utilization of
better palm juice that is useful both for society and government.
This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 2 (two)
treatment and 5 (five) replicates that of 10 experimental units. Primary data
obtained from observations of palm juice production (liters / plant / day) in
the morning and evening, according to the age difference made palm tree for
15 days starting from the 07th until January 22, 2012 HSIL obtained as follows:
age effect is very real palm trees to the amount of juice per day production.
The average production of palm juice was highest in treatment A (age between 10
to 20 years) of 20.83 liters / day. Average of the lowest palm juice production
occurs in treatment B (age between 21 to 30 years) only amounted to 7.95 liters
/ day. Increasing age of the palm tree sap produced diminishing returns.
