PENGARUH INOKULASI JAMUR Phanerochaete chrysosporium Burds TERHADAP SIFAT SERAT KAYU RANDU (Ceiba pentandra Gaertn)
Abstract: White rot fungi are
wood degrading organism that are able to decompose wood polymers; lignin,
cellulose and hemicelluloses. Especially
the selective white rot fungi that decompose preferentially wood lignin over
wood polysaccharides e.g. cellulose are promising for biopulping applications. The
study of Phanerochaete chrysosporium Burds fungi inoculation to kapok chips was
conducted to recognize the characteristics in which as raw materials of pulp
and paper. The degradation level influence of fiber properties. Phanerochaete
chrysosporium fungi incubated at PDA for 10 days, and then inoculated to kapok
chips for 20, 30, and 40 days and fiber morphology was analyzed. The results
showed that fiber length decreased from control but diameter of fiber, diameter of lumen and cell thickness increased that made runkel
ratio, mulstep number, rigidity
coeffitient increased but felting power and fleksibility ratio decreased.
