IDENTIFIKASI RAYAP DAN SERANGANNYA DI HUTAN PENDIDIKAN UNLAM MANDIANGIN KALIMANTAN SELATAN
Abstract: The aim of this
research was to identify species diversity of termites, to measure attack
levels, to detect resilience level of plants families against termites attack
and to evaluate the efficacy of termites control. There were 112 species of
plants in the rehabilitation area and 44 species in the natural area attacked
by termites. I Four species of two termite families were found at both areas.
The 4 species of termites were Nasutitermes sp., Coptotermes sp., Macrotermes
sp. and Rhinotermes sp. of the family Termitidae and Rhinotermitidae. At both
areas, incidence and severity of termites attacks werw significantly different.
The incidence and severity at the rehabilitation area were higher than that at
the natural forest. Generally, the condition of plants at both areas were at
the level of low damage. Sapling, poles and trees showed the same incidences of
attack by termites ( p < 0,01 ), but not the severety or intensity in
severities or intensity. Some families of plant were not attacked by termites
i.e Zingiberaceae, Sonneratiaceae, Lytheraceae, Casuarinaceae, Myrsimaceae,
Rutaceae, Fagaceae, Compositae, Polypodiaceae, Tiliaceae, Rosaceae,
Caesalpiniaceae, Thymelaeaceae and Vitaceae.
