ANALISIS RIAP TANAMAN GMELINA (Gmelina arborea Linn) DALAM RANGKA EVALUASI PENETAPAN DAUR PADA PENGELOLAAN HTI PT. AYA YAYANG INDONESIA DI KALIMANTAN SELATAN
Abstract: The program of
forest plantation development is expected to increase the supply of timber as
raw material for the wood processing industry and also expand the employment
opportunity and the quality of environment and also to support local
development. One of the forests Concession Company, which establish the forest
plantation, is PT. Aya Yayang Indonesia. One of the recommendations from the
feasibility study of forest plantation for PT. Aya Yayang Indonesia is Gmelina
planting with the cutting age of 12 years and standing stock of 210 m3/ha. This
study is based on the research result of BTR Banjarbaru from the Riam Kiwa site
at the stand age of 1 –3 years. The increment of tree vegetation is highly
affected by edaphic and climatic factors so that it is possible that the
predicted cutting age, which has been stated can, differs from the expected
yield. This research aims to analyze the volume increment of Gmelina stand in
conjunction with of cutting age of PT. Aya Yayang Indonesia. This research is
expected to give benefit as the preventive step in evaluating the application
of silvicultural measures and the basis for the calculation of profit – loss
flow for the company especially the Forest Company planting Gmelina. The frame
of through which is developed in the research is the projection of increment
and cutting age of Gmelina from the feasibility study might be not the same
with the Gmelina’s increment from the plantation program of PT. Aya Yayang
Indonesia. In view that the presumed
growths curve (the result of feasibility study) and the actual growth curve
(the result of permanent plot from plantation of PT. Aya Yayang Indonesia) may
be different or not a group of data was analyzed by comparing the result of
regression analysis to determine whether the curve is feasible or not for the
basis for determining the cutting age and increment of Gmelina plantation of
PT. Aya Yayang Indonesia. It was known that the result of feasibility study
from the Riam Kiwa site could not be used to determine the stand increment of
Gmelina plantation of PT. Aya Yayang Indonesia. At the age of 9 years the
increment line of MAI and CAI has cross each other. This finding becomes the
basis for determining the predicted harvesting time for the Gmelina plantation
of PT. Aya Yayang Indonesia, which is at the age of 9 years. The mean annual increment
(MAI) of 85 m3/ha/year can be used to determine the profit – loss flow for the
forest plantation of PT. Aya Yayang Indonesia.
