ANALISIS KUALITAS BRIKET ARANG DARI CAMPURAN KAYU AKASIA DAUN LEBAR (Acacia mangium Wild) DENGAN BATUBARA
Abstract: Waste charcoal can
be used for the manufacture of charcoal briquettes, charcoal is a kind of
modification, size and density into a product that is more efficient in its use
as fuel. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of the raw
material mix of wood charcoal, charcoal briquettes with coal Acacia
Mangium. Differences composition of each
treatment to produce the value of water content, ash content, volatile matter,
carbon residue, density and calorific value are different. Carbon residue value
generated 61.25% - 73.54% of all treated to meet standards of quality
Japanese-made charcoal briquettes in the range of 60-80%. Value of volatile matter produced only
treatment A1 (24.54%) and A2 (27.67%), only the Japanese standard in the range
of 15-30%. Caloric value resulting from 6243.8778 to 7679.0393 is found to
comply with briquettes made in Japan, Britain and America. The value of water
content, ash content and density of all treatments there is a mixture of
charcoal briquettes that do not meet good standards of Japan, Britain and
America. Based on research, we recommend carrying out further research on the
water content, ash, residual coal, density, content of volatile matter content
and calorific power of adhesive material of others and different pressures on
the percentage use of the same composition feedstock in the manufacture of coal
briquettes in charcoal briquettes
