WACANA TUBUH PEREMPUAN DIDUNIA MEDIA : TINJAUAN PERSPEKTIF GENDER
Abstract: In the world of
entertainment and media industries, women’s bodies are assets as well as objects
of exploration and exploitation. Exploitation of the female body in art and
media industry has the potential to collide with moral values †that require a woman’s body should be
covered and should not publicly displayed. For the sake of upholding moral
values †, traditional dance movements and costumes were censored to match the
standards of modesty. The same is true in literature, women writers who explore
female sexuality openly accused of being disrespectful of women, the same is
seldom addressed to a male writer. In the media industry, women’s bodies is part
of the capital which was exploited to make profits only. It turned out that
wherever woman works will always be associated with her body and gender
identity.
