SENARAI PERKEMBANGAN INDUSTRI PERFILMAN: ARENA HIBURAN, INFORMASI, DAN EKSTASE KEPENTINGAN
Abstract: This article
elaborates the growth and dynamics of cinema industry related to the
implications of policy and the development of technology. Considering the width
of problems, this paper focuses to several points. First, the discussion about
the film definition as a medium of interests; the history of cinema industry,
including the history of technological innovation that becomes the “backbone”
of the industry. Second, the rise and fall of cinema industry in the middle of
political, economical, social, and cultural issues. In Indonesia, government’s
policy takes the main role in the industry. Policy gives a guarantee to the
people who are involved in the business. In this context, history of national
cinema industry shows a clearer view that the rise and fall in film production
has a strong linkage with the government’s policy and regulation.
