RECEPTION ANALYSIS IBU RUMAH TANGGA MUDA TERHADAP PRESENTER EFFEMINATE DALAM PROGRAM-PROGRAM MUSIK TELEVISI
Abstract: It can not be denied
that effeminacy or transgender is still preceived as a kind of social
deviation. However, it seems that their presence is getting more and more acceptence by the society in general.
This is indicated by the number of media which use those effeminate figures in
entertainment and television industry. This study is a reception analysis of
young housewives toward effemniate presenter in several television music
programs. The purpose of this study is to understand the young housewives’
reception toward effeminate presenters in several television music programs
that lately become one of the most popular programs among several television stations.
This study also attempts to reveal the factors that influence their reception
toward effeminate presenter. The theoretical frameworks used in this study are
audience analysis and factors that influence the reception, while the method
used in this study is fructure and faction method. This study reveals that the
position of housewives as ones that are
responsible for all domestic tasks and
matters have become one of strong influential factors in taking
negotiation decoding position. There are three interrelated things that intensely
influence the decoding position of the informants that are economy, social
relation, and media with regard to entertainment
