PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION OF HELPING HEMODIALISIS IN HEMODIALYSIS UNIT OF PANEMBAHAN SENOPATI HOSPITAL BANTUL
ABSTRACT: Hemodialysis is the
most common therapy performed by patients with chronic kidney disease
worldwide. Complications of hemodialysis on the physical health of clients
makes the client weak in daily life. Clients who have undergone hemodialysis
tend to spend their days by resting because their energy is depleted during
hemodialysis. In hemodialysis unit of Panembahan Senopati Hospital Bantul,
there were 347 patients recorded from January to October 2017. The objective of
this study was to know the physical health description of patients undergoing
hemodialysis in Hemodialysis Unit of Panembahan Senopati Hospital, Bantul. The
research design used was qualitative with phenomenology approach. This research
used purposive sampling. The population in this study were patients who
underwent hemodialysis as many as 247 patients within the last 3 months at the
hemodialysis unit of Panembahan Senopati Hospital Bantul. Patients undergoing
hemodialysis feel that they undergo a variety of physical changes, including
physical impairment, changes in physical health, changes in energy balance and
fatigue, sleep/sleep disturbances and changes in nutritional needs.
