The measuring tool used is a set of questionnaires with variables which are knowledge, attitude, motivation, family support and diabetic diet obedience in which validity and reliability test has been done. The analyses used are univariate analysis in order to know the frequency distribution and bivariate using chi square test. The results of the study shows that factors related to diabetic diet obedience of diabetes patients with type 2 are knowledge (p value = 0,009), attitude (p value = 0,004), motivation (p value = 0,008), family support (p value = 0,031). Therefore, it can be concluded that knowledge, attitude, motivation and family support are factors that play important roles in improving diet obedience.
