Family planning unmet need among childbearing aged couples in urban community in Yogyakarta
Abstract: This study aims to
determine the relationship of provider bias with unmet need for family planning
in couples of childbearing age in kecamatanKraton kota Yogyakarta. Method:
This cross sectional study involved 121 respondents of childbearing age
couples in Kraton sub-district Yogyakarta city. Data retrieval technique with
multistage random sampling. Data analysiswith univariable. Bivariable analysis
using chi square test with significance level (p <0,05) and 95% confidence
interval. Multivariable analysis usinglogistic regression statistic test. This
research was conducted in May-June 2017. Results: This study showed that
there was a significant relationshipboth statistically and practically between
provider bias and unmet need forfamily planning in couples of childbearing age.
The results of the provider'sbias analysis after considering the support of
husbands, occupations and the number of children affected by 15% in the
opportunities for unmet need KB. Conclusion: Quality of service to provide
understanding of contraceptionneeds to be improved. Family planning providers
need to acquirecommunication skills to provide family planning services through
capacitybuilding activities for providers in a sustainable manner.
