UPAYA PEMERINTAH ITALIA DALAM MENANGANI IMIGRAN ILEGAL DARI AFRIKA UTARA
Abstract: Illegal immigrants
coming from North Africa are immigrants who want to get protection from
pressure or security threats caused by the conflict in their native countries
to get a better life far from their native countries. Immigrant destination
countries are Italy, because Italy is the nearest state of the countries of
North Africa. However, the arrival of immigrants from North Africa into Italy
through became unofficial or illegal. The purpose of this study is to how the
Italian Government Effort to Handle Illegal Immigrant From North Africa
(2011-2014). This study is a qualitative research. It uses the library research
method by taking the data from books, journals, articles and the internet. The
Italian government in preventing and dealing with illegal immigrants from North
Africa, namely: cooperation with Libya in the field of security especially
cooperation in the field of illegal migration, creating a policy to regulate
immigration by adopting the provisions of the security package, implement
policies border patrols at sea Mediterranean or Operation Mare Nostrum (OMN)
which is a border policing operation, and establish international cooperation
with Spain and other European Union member states to cope with the arrival of
illegal immigrants by putting illegal immigrants into the shelter.
