PEREMPUAN DALAM NARASI PASCAKOLONIAL (NOVEL BEKISAR MERAH KARYA AHMAD TOHARI)
Abstract: A novel can be seen
as “a text in the contexts”. So do Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari, a distinctive
Indonesian novelist. This article tries to present a critical reading of
Bekisar Merah through post-colonialism perspectives, especially regarding to
gender issue that was represented from the novel. How does the representation
of women in that novel, and its relation to the social condition? That is the
major question that would be answered in this article.
