ABSTRACT: Ombudsmanof the
Republic ofIndonesiaRepresentativeWest Sumatra provincehas an important rolein
safeguardingthe rights ofsocietyeducationin the province ofWest
Sumatramaladministrationofactionsundertakenbyinstitutionsorpartieswhoinjurethe
rights ofsocietyeducation. Issues to be discussedare: (1) What isthe duties
andauthority ofthe Ombudsmanof the Republic ofIndonesiaRepresentativeWest
Sumatra provincein the resolution ofthe reportregarding cases
ofmaladministrationinthe field ofeducation? (2) forms ofthe completion ofthe
reportwhat has beendonebythe Ombudsmanof the Republic
ofIndonesiaRepresentativeWest Sumatra provinceon casesof maladministrationinthe
field ofeducationduring theyears2013-2014? (3) How is the follow-up tothe
Ombudsmanof the Republic ofIndonesiaRepresentativeWest Sumatra provinceafter
thecompletion of thereports?.Toanswer theabove problems, theauthor conducted
researchwithjuridicalsociologicalresearch methodsthatuseprimary datain the form
ofinterviews, secondary data fromthe annualreportdocumentsthe Ombudsmanof the
Republic ofIndonesiaRepresentativeof WestSumatraprovince. The data obtained
wereanalyzed qualitatively. From theresearchit can be concluded: (1) The
Ombudsmanof the Republic ofIndonesiaRepresentativeWest Sumatra
provincereferringto the provisions ofthe Act37of 2008 on theOmbudsmanof the
Republic ofIndonesiain the completion of124reportsin the field
ofeducationduring theyears2013 to 2014(2) forms ofthe
completionreportsmadeOmbudsmanRepresentativeof the Republic ofIndonesiaWest
Sumatra provinceon casesof maladministrationinthe field ofeducationduring
theyears2013-2014isan investigation, a writtenclarificationandmonitoring(3)
Follow-up ofthe Ombudsmanof the Republic ofIndonesiaRepresentativeWest Sumatra
provinceafterthe completion ofthe reportisthe delivery ofadvice/recommendation.
