ABSTRACT: Department of
Communication and Information Technology representing the city of Padang Local
Government in conducting the affairs of the Local Government in the field of
transportation is responsible for the provision of facilities and traffic
infrastructure and road transport. 1) How is the implementation of the role of
the Department of Transportation, Communication and Information Technology of
Padang in the field of transport 2) what are obstacles faced by the Department
of Communication and Information of Padang service delivery in the field of
transport 3) what are the efforts undertaken by the Department of Communication
and Information of Padang to overcome
barriers to service delivery in the field of transport. The method used in this
thesis is a sociological juridical law is a research method that emphasizes
the practice field and connect with
regulations and laws which focused on the observation of the effectiveness of
the law it self. Implementation of the role of the transportation department of
communication and Informatics of Padang in transportation, namely the provision
of public services that take into account the principles of justice, the
provision of adequate public service facilities. Barriers faced is occurrence
competition between modes of transport, Decreased awareness of society to
comply with the management of transportation, emergence of illegal
transportation services. Efforts undertaken include construction / improvement
of Bus station, Station public transportation and maintenance of infrastructure
and road transport traffic facilities.
