PENGATURAN PERLINDUNGAN SATWA LANGKA MENURUT KONVENSI CITES DAN IMPLEMENTASINYA DI INDONESIA
Abstract: One of the most
important natural resources for humans is the diversity of animals found on
earth. Every country on earth each have a diversity of wildlife. Some examples
are dragons that come from the island of Komodo, Indonesia, Giant Panda from
Shaanxi Province, China, wildebeest from the Serengeti, Tanzania, grizzly bears
from Alaska, USA, and synchronous fireflies from Selangor Malaysia Indonesia
has ratified CITES in 1978 by presidential decree (presidential) No. 43 1978
about animals protected. Formulation of the problem are discussed 1. What
settings dala convention CITES endangered species? 2. How does the trade,
protection of endangered species? 3. How is the implementation of CITES in
Indonesia? The research method is a normative law, with secondary data in
qualitative analysis. Based on these results it can be concluded that (1). In
the CITES convention no specific chapter or rules governing the punishment for
the perpetrators of illegal trade, but such provision trade of endangered
species exist Act - legislation that govern them. (2). CITES endangered species
of mammals such as orangutans, Sumatran goat, bobcat, cat mangrove, beruan
honey, and reptiles such as turtles, crocodiles and many other estuaries. (3).
Implementation of CITES in Indonesia is still less effective due to the
understanding and benefits.
