KAJIAN BIJI KARET (HEVEA BRASILIENSIS) SEBAGAI KANDIDAT BAHAN BAKU PAKAN IKAN
ABSTRACT: A study on rubber
seed (Hevea brasiliensis) as a candidat of local fish feed ingredient in term
of its abundance and nutrient value was conducted. Potency of rubber seed in
Indonesia was analized using desk study. Sample of rubber seed was collected
from husbandary belonging farmers and company in Batanghari District of Jambi
Province. Rubber seed was meal and a part of the meal was processed to reduce
its HCN content. Parameters tested were potency of rubber seed, proximate/amino
acid composition and HCN concentration. The results showed that potency of
rubber seed in Indonesia in 2013 was 5,67 million tons. Rubber seed contained
22,9% crude protein, 48,04% crude fat, 4,42 % crude fibre and 3,14 % ash,
respectively. If fat content reduced to be 5,46 %, its protein increased up to
50,74%. Rubber seed had completely essential amino acids, but lack of lysin
(0,39%) and methionin (0,01%). Toxic material of HCN in rubber seed could be
reduced from 0,06% to 0,003% through chemical process.
