PENDETEKSIAN KARBOHIDRAT (MUKUS) PADA JARINGAN LUNAK KARANG MASIF (Porites sp.) DI PERAIRAN KOTA BONTANG PROVINSI KALIMANTAN TIMUR
ABSTRACT: This research
was aimed to
detect carbohydrate distribution
frequency in (Porites
sp.) coral massive soft tissue.
This research using histology method and
staining with Periodic Acid Schiff’s (PAS).
The preparations results
there was showed
and analyzed with
descriptive qualitative methods,
using photomicrograph to describe it. The results was showed that the 3 layers
of coral polyp membrane namely (ectoderm, mesoglea and endoderm). There is
neutral carbohydrate can be found in
Porites sp. soft
tissue, there was
have a positive
strong and weak
positive characteristic.
Strong positive characteristic of
neutral carbohydrate can
be found in
mesoglea, eksokrin gland and zooxanthellae. Weak positive characteristic
of neutral carbohydrate can be found in endoderm and a part of messenteri
filament section. The carbohydrate used by coral for growing and support
metabolism process.
