UPAYA ASEAN DALAM MENANGGULANGI PERDAGANGAN DAN PEREDARAN NARKOTIKA ILEGAL DI KAWASAN ASIA TENGGARA (2009-2012)
Abstract: This research aim to
know how the role of ASEAN in overcome drugs trafficking in Southeast Asia from
2009 until 2013. This research is descriptive research wherein give the common
pictures and explain about the role of ASEAN to overcome drug trafficking in
Southeast Asia. Presented data is secondary data which is collected from
various books, magazines, article, journal, summary lectures, websites and
newspapers related to problems. Data analyze technique used is content
analysis.
The result is the role of ASEAN in handling the drug trafficking in
Southeast Asia is encourage countries in Southeast Asia to actively participate
in the prevention of drug trafficking. Trafficking in narcotics received
significant attention from the foreign ministers of ASEAN through the passage
of the Joint Declaration for a Drug-Free ASEAN 2020 AMM issued at the hearing
to 31 July 1998 in Manila, Philippines. Subsequently all ministers agreed
targets to realize the Drug Free acceleration which initially targeted 2020 to
2015. ASOD as the main pillars of ASEAN has four working groups, namely:
prevention education, treatment and rehabilitation, law enforcement and
research. These programs include the establishment of four priority areas
related to the training center region.
