Penguatan Hubungan Kerjasama Indonesia-Malaysia Dalam Menangani Kejahatan Transnasional
Abstract: This study attempts
to explain the bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia in
an effort to
reduce the occurrence
of transnational crimes. Transnational crime
is defined as
cross-border crime and
disrupt a country's national security to be able to
create conflicts. One factor transnational crime in parts
of Indonesia and
Malaysia are the
geographical proximity as the
region bordering the
sea and land.
The most common
crimes such as
drug trafficking, human trafficking
and fugitive problems.
The approach of
this research is interdependence liberalism,
that the interaction
between both countries was
a potential conflict
or cooperation occurs
in countries that
are geographically contiguous. Under the complex interdependence, the
problems that arise can
be reduced if
both countries have
a strong desire
to work together to solve
problems that arise. The results of this study revealed that the bilateral
cooperation chosen by Indonesia and Malaysia in resolving conflicts and
transnational crime through agreements settlement programs issues, such as
cooperation in the field of law and joint border monitoring.
