IMPLEMENTASI REDUCING EMISSIONS FROM DEFORESTATION AND FOREST DEGRADATION+ (REDD+) DI KABUPATEN KAPUAS, KALIMANTAN TENGAH
Abstract: REDD + is the
provision of incentives to rainforest nations to protect their forests in order
to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protection sustainable management of
forests and enhancement of carbon reserves. REDD has not become part of a
global deal on climate change, but is proposed to be included in the new
agreement that will replace the Kyoto Protocol. In the meantime, REDD pilot
schemes are being implemented and funding mechanisms being drafted UN agencies,
international financial institutions, private companies, government and
environmental organizations. REDD is needed to rehabilitate the forests in
Kapuas, Central Kalimantan that damaged and converted to agriculture.
