DILEMATIS MEDIA DALAM PEMBERITAAN KONFLIK DAN KEKERASAN
ABSTRACT: The media is now
widely proclaimed vulgar conflict and violence. and sometimes no longer have a
good sensor. In fact by presenting the news or impressions repeatedly will adversely
affect the behavior of the audience. The purpose of this study to obtain an overview
about dilemma of the media in news of conflict and violence. The method used is
content analysis with a qualitative approach. The study concluded that the
media wherever located and operates always have the potential functional and
dysfunctional. Media has the potential to spread the spirit of peace and also
to alleviate the conflict. Conversely also has the potential dysfunctional due
to potentially worsen or trigger a prolonged conflict. Time for the media to
accommodate various alternative paradigms that allows for an atmosphere of
peace through the news that brings peace where professional journalism, ethics, conscience and personal
sensor fused participate in it.
