DINAMIKA SPESIESAVIFAUNA DI AREAL PT ARUTMIN INDONESIA – NORTH PULAU LAUT COAL TERMINAL, KOTABARU, KALIMANTAN SELATAN
Abstract: Avifauna of PT
Arutmin Indonesia - North Pulau Laut Coal Terminal had never been monitored
yet. The research aimed to analyse the presence as well as the dynamics of
avifauna species. Throughpoint of abundance andland survey, birdswere observed
and identified visually andalso based on either vocalizationsor photographs.
Parametersrecorded werehabitat types, hour and minuteof presence, species name,
andthe number of individual. Data was tabulated according to both five minute
time unitsandhabitat types and then analysedto obtain the relative frequencyof
the species presence. Status of protection, conservation, andtradewere
determined. Fifty seven species were found and 39 of them were resident.Fifteen
species are protected (PP No. 7/1999),3 species arenear threatened (IUCN), 3
species belongs to Appendix II (CITES), andthere is1 species endemicto
Kalimantan. The number and the presence of bird species varied each data
collecting period and each habitat type.
