STUDI TENTANG AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI METABOLIT SEKUNDER DARI ALGA MERAH EUCHEUMA SP.
ABSTRAK: Eucheuma sp. is one
of the red algae, order Gigartinales which has large quantity in Indonesian´s
sea, also it has cultivated for carageenan agar resources and it has for
traditionally medicine treatment to attact a microbial infectious diseases.
This research aim´s were done to know how an antibacterial activity of eucheuma
extract in methanol solvent to Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria.
Completely Randomized Design was used with two factors are extract
consentration and bacteria assay by three replications. The result showed that
all bacteria assays had inhibition´s zone more or less Ǿ 6,5 mm on 75 %
concentration of extract eucheuma in methanol. This mean is middle sensitive
category . But all of them had inhibition´s zone only less than Ǿ 4,0 mm on 25%
concentration of extract eucheuma in methanol and it́ ́´s mean all bacteria
assay are resistat category. An antibacterial activity is not optimum working
caused by crude eucheuma extract had been used.
