HUBUNGAN GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN TERHADAP KINERJA TENAGA KESEHATAN DI PUSKESMAS WARA SELATAN KOTA PALOPO

ABSTRACT: The study aimed to determine between leadership style of problem solving and decision-making with the performance of health centers Wara Selatan Palopo City in 2012. The study was observational with a cross-sectional study. The total sample was 60 peoples. The study used a questionnaire as an instrument of data collection. The analysis used chi-square test. The study showed that in solving problems, 45 respondents (75.0%) chose participation in the leadership style. In decision-making, there were 30 respondents (50.0%) chose consultative leadership style. Based on the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between leadership styles based on solving a problem with the performance of health workers (X²hit (9.630) > X²tab (7,81) with medium relationship (0,401). And there was a relationship between leadership styles based on decision making with the performance of health workers (X²hit (8.658) > X²tab (7,81) with medium relationship ( 0,380). From these results, the suggestions are: there should be a link between leadership style of the head of health centre Wara selatan i.e instruction, consultation, participation and delegation with the performance of health workers i.e attendance, cooperation, quality of work, attitude, and knowledge about work for solving daily problem. A head of health center should apply a more flexible leadership style in accordance with the existing situation for the better performance of the health workers
