PENGARUH ELEVASI EKSTREMITAS BAWAH TERHADAP PROSES PENYEMBUHAN ULKUS DIABETIK DI WILAYAH BANTEN TAHUN 2010

Absract:  One  of Diabetes  Mellitus  complications,   is  ulcer.  Process  of  diabetical  ulcus healing  influenced  by  internal  factors  and  external  factors.  The  internal  factors  are  age, nutrition,  some  chronic  diseases,  blood  glucose,  growth factor,  blood  cholesterol,  and  circulation.  The  external  factor  are  able  to  influence  like infection, diabetes history, smoking, and hypertension history. This research is aim to get a description about “influence of elevation of lower extremity to diabetic ulcer healing process in Banten". This research using quasi experiment method with nonequivalent control group design approach. Sample in this research were diabetes mellitus patients with ulcer, consist of 7  respondents  as  control  group  and  6  respondent  as  intervention  group. Univariat  analysis showed that score of healing process between group with elevation  more better than grou without elevation. The result of bivariat analysis showed that lower extremity elevation were significantly associated with diabetic ulcer healing process (p value 0,003). Nurse should be  elevate the lower extremity with diabetic ulcer at around 10 minutes after activity more than 15 minutes. Summary of this research are the average of healing process of ulcus diabetic at group  without  elevation  is  higher  to  elevation  group.  Besides  that,  there  are  not  related between   vascularisation,  blood  glucose  rate,  infection,  nutrition,  diabetes  history,  and smoking history to healing process of diabetic ulcus.
