TINJAUAN KETAHANAN AUS HASIL MODIFIKASI NOKEN AS PADA MOTOR BALAP

ABSTRACT: To improve performance of motor sport engine, mechanics modify the engine. One of the ways is by changing the angle of camshaft by weld and reforms it as that they need.  Camshaft is a shaft that is used to control opening and closing inlet and outlet valve at four stroke engine. Because the duration of camshaft changed, it will influence the fuel consumption directly. It will influence the characteristic of engine too.
The purpose of this research is to find out the hardness and the strength of modified camshaft. From the result of this research can be concluded that the hardness of modified camshaft is 30% lower than the standard one and the rate of the wearing out 33.3% higher than the standard one.
