RANCANG BANGUN ALAT KONVERSI ENERGI SURYA MENJADI ENERGI MEKANIK
ABSTRACT: A solar collector
chimney model has been studied. The appliance of convert solar energy become
mechanic energy by heated the air at collector resulting the forming of air
stream naturally, which able to turn around turbine in the chimney. Solar
energy is the nature source of energy with character: unpollutant, free of
charge and also continuous all day long. The change of air density because of
temperature changes will result air emit a stream naturally to the lower
temperature place and hot weather will ride on to chimney. Examination have
conducted in air-gap broadly, the surface of collector 1 m2, high of chimney 1
m and diameter 7,5cm (PVC 3"). The result showed that turbine which is attached
by a chimney at output of collector could rotate. It’s means that solar energy
can turn into mechanic energy with rotation equal to mean 110 rpm. With this
wide of collector was obtained the increase of secretory air temperature of
collector equal to mean 15oC.
