APLIKASI SIMULASI KOMPUTER DALAM UPAYA MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS PENCAHAYAAN ALAMI BANGUNAN
Abstract: This paper
aims to demonstrate
the use of
computer simulation in
improving daylight performance of
building design. Computer
simulation programmes RADIANCE
and ECOTECT has been used for this purpose. The computer simulation
programmes allow the designers to evaluate
a number of
design options including
the impact of
different glass transmittance, wall
reflectance, shading devices
and the internal
partition. The daylight performance of
these design options
could be evaluated
in three different
skies i.e. clear, intermediate and overcast sky as well
as in three different sun positions i.e. Tropic of Cancer (22 June),
Equinox (22 September)
and Tropic of
Capricorn (22 December).
The results show that some of the
design schemes were well designed such as the use of vertical shading devices at
North and South
facade. However, the
designed of internal
partition should be carefully
decided as the
current system prevent
the daylight penetrated
into deeper part
of the building.
