ANALISIS PATAHAN BAHAN PART CHAINLINK PADA DRAG CHAIN CONVEYOR DENGAN PENGUJIAN FRAKTOGRAFI MENGGUNAKAN SEM DAN EDX
ABSTRACT: Failure of
production tool components is undesirable for several reasons, one of them is
economic because it can increase maintenance cost. Drag chain conveyor is one
of the important tool which is used for coal handling in cement industries. The
problem that often happens is failure of
chainlink.
This paper is aimed to analyze the characteristics of chainlink's
fracture. Material examination which have been done is frctographic test for
fractograph analysis. The result showed that overload was the root cause of
failure. Overload that indicated by dimple rupture mode on its fracture
apperence was caused by jam of chainlink movement on its way. In addition, low
quality of surface finish introduced so many stress raiser and unfortunately
severe wear also contributed to reduce its strength.
