PRESICION FORESTRY SEBAGAI BASIS PENDEKATAN KOMPREHENSIF SISTEM INFORMASI KEHUTANAN TERPADU DI KALIMANTAN SELATAN
Abstract: The purpose of the
work is to develop a satellite supported inventory system to determine changes
and explain the relationship between the state of the population and the land
cover changes in forest cover in the regency of Kabupaten Banjar and also to
establish spatial model call Precision Forestry as a comprehensif base model to
prepare an approach for Forestry Information System in the province of South
Kalimantan. As a final result of this investigation, maps indicating the
potensial risks from disturbance due anthropogenic and natural influences were
created. In addition, ecological aspects, that is, the diversity and dynamism
of the vegetation, anthropogenic influences, land system, soil capability, land
suitability, land cover, “Hot Spot” forest fire information and remote sensing
are taken into consideration. An Early Warning Flood Danger Detection System as
a preliminary action model to handle the possibility of flood risk (natural
hazard) in Kabupaten Banjar regency were created. At the end, all of the
recommendation can be derived as a base consideration on a preliminary action
to predict the flood characteristic of Kabupaten Banjar. From carried out
investigations the following conclusions can be derived (a) The construction of
a gographic information system on the basis of remote sensing data make easier
an integrated environment monitoring system considering different kinds
information; (b) The main causes of degradation in the Kabupaten Banjar Regency
from 2006 to 2007/08 were examined. The most important factors that accounted
for the degradation are: flood, forest and human influence; (c) The results of
the land evaluation for land system, land cover, land suitability and soil
capability produced important values with whose help priorities for management
and indicators of sustainable development could be derived; (d) The land
systems Segintung (SGT) and Serimbang (SRM) around the villages of Astambul,
Martapura, Banjarbaru, Simpang Empat.are
especially endangered due to natural catastrophes such as flood and forest
fire; (e) Due to the complexity of the disturbance causes it is necessary to
set up a multi- interdiciplinary network to continuosly monitor the area; (f) a
positive aspect was the fact that natural succession on degraded surface areas
is very quick and dynamic, even though at times with a partial loss of the
biodiversity; (g) Social and economic aspects were recognized as causes of
disturbance in the area of Kabupaten Banjar around the villages of Karang
Intan, Pengaron, Sungai Pinang, Simpang Empat Tapin dan Aranio; and (h) it is
possible to tranfer the methods and results of this investigation to other
areas only when similar conditions such as soil characteristics, satellite
supported inventory system and socio-economic structure are available.
