PERBANDINGAN RENDEMEN CUKA KAYU (Wood Vinegar) JELUTUNG (Dyera spp) BERDASARKAN UKURAN BAHAN BAKU
Abstract: Jelutung (Dyera spp)
is one kind of flora that generally can be found Central Kalimantan, but their
plentiful potential is solely exploited as secondary production. This research
aims to find the quantity of jelutung’s charcoal and wood vinegar. This
research utilized jelutung wood to result charcoal and vinegar by expanding on
different treatments in its sizes of 5 cm and 15 cm. Every treatment was burnt
in the kiln in 10 hours. The treatments results to be analyzed are the quantity
of charcoal and wood vinegar, and Japanese standard of wood vinegar quality.
The result showed that the smaller size sample (5 cm) produced better quantity
of charcoal and wood vinegar than the bigger one. However, quality of wood
vinegar of jelutung has not been in accordance with Japanese standard.
