PENGARUH CARA PENGERINGAN DAN UKURAN KETEBALAN PAPAN KAYU BENUANG (Octomales sumatrana Miq) TERHADAP KECEPATAN PENURUNAN KADAR AIR DAN RETAK UJUNG PAPAN
Abstract: This research aim to
know the level of moisture degradation rate for the balance of wood Benuang
which dried using dryer with zinc wall and dryer without zinc wall, in that
case the way of thick size measure and draining can quicken the draining and
lessen the handicap at wood. The device that used is Randomize Complete Design
(RAL) with the factorial pattern. The
sample of the test that being used for this research are 30 sampel with 15
sample of each for every way of draining that is three thick size measure and
five restating times, so this research pattern is (2x3x5) = 30 sample, each
sampel dried for a few month until reach the equilibrium moisture. According to
the analysis of variance to draining time, the speed of draining and barst at
the end of board, the longest draining time occur at the dryer without using
zinc wall equal to 49 day, and also for the barst at the end of board at sample
board which dried at the dryer without using zinc wall with the average value
equal to 3,51 cm and for the dryer using zinc wall equal to 2,09 cm, for the
longest barst also met at sampel board which dried at the dryer without using
zinc wall 5,19 cm and for the dryer using zinc wall equal to 2,55 cm. Thereby the way of draining and thick have an
effect to the draining time and barst at the end of board.
