Model Manajemen Konflik dalam Pengelolaan Kebun Binatang Surabaya
Abstract: Nowadays, the
internal conflict which occurred in Surabaya Zoo has already turned into the
external conflict and has involved many parties. Up to now, this conflict is
still ongoing and it gives bad effects to the management and also the image of
Surabaya Zoo itself. However, Surabaya Zoo has been showing the better
condition since it is taken over by the local government and managed by the regional company of Wildlife park “KBS”.
The result of this study is that the background of the conflict which occurs in
Surabaya Zoo is the concerns of the actor that involve in the conflict, such as
the economic and political motive. Generally, that conflict gives the
dysfunctional impact. Because of that on going conflict, the permit of KBS
conservation institution is revoked by the ministry of forestry, so KBS can not
implement the policies crucially yet.
While for the resolution of the conflict, the parties that involve in
this conflict tend to use the competition model (win and lose solution), where
self-regulation style is applied in its process, as well as the intervention of
the third-party through the courts and the legislative approaches.
