Abstract: Population growth
quickly in spirit of region autonomy these days is progressively improve the
activity exploit to the natural resources for both in conversion forest and
production forest area, even in area of protected forest which ought to be
taken care and preserved do not miss from exploited activities. Fact indicate
that the area nowadays have experienced of the enough damage because getting
threat from various party. Those indication can be felt by various natural
disaster of like : floods, dryness, landslide, land and forest fire,
environmental contamination and global climate change. The target reached from
this research are get detailly the information of various society activities
which can threat to existence of protected forest area. Research method used is
to secondary data in the form of boundary of protected forest area, boundary
of mining concession and plantation
obtained from related institution. Land cover obtained from interpretation of
composite satellite image of year 2007 with the spatial resolution of 30 m and
field survey. Primary data in the form of activity in protected forest area
obtained by interview with village heads and also key respondent in or around
of protected forest area. Boundary of protected forest area have been analysis
spatially by the Geographical Information System (GIS), through overlay of
shape file format data. Analysis the other data used is tabulation method.
Result of this research indicate that threat in
protected forest area is related of andesit stone mining, farming,
plantation, ox pasturing, land and forest fire.
