CONFIRMATORY FACTOR ANALYSIS : SEBUAH PENGANTAR BAGI SOSIOLOGI

Abstract: Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) is a statistical technique used to verify the factor structure of a set of observed variables. It different with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). EFA used only to explore the possible underlying factor structure of a set of observed variables without imposing a preconceived structure on the outcome. CFA allows the researcher to test the hypothesis that a relationship between observed variables and their underlying latent constructs exists. The researcher uses knowledge of the theory, empirical research, or both, postulates the relationship pattern a priori and then statistically confirm on many factors (latent, unobservable, non visible) variables underlying measurement. First Order Confirmatory Factor Analysis (1st CFA) used as a tool to analyzed reflective indicators as formed latent variables. Second Order Confirmatory Factor Analysis (2nd CFA) used as a tool to analyzed dimensi formed latent variables.
